Moon's operation was carried out in London on Wednesday.
And the Scottish Premier League club's website stated: "The surgeon has advised the club that it went as planned and has been a success."
Moon, who has played 69 times for Saints, joins fellow midfielder Martin Hardie in recovering from surgery for the same kind of injury.
