St Johnstone and St Mirren ended the season with an uninspiring no score draw.

Neither side could complain about the result of an evenly matched contest. The home side had a slight edge in the first half with Stephen Dobbie looking more likely to succeed. In the 13th minute, he had the first of two good free kicks, saved well by young goalkeeper Chris Smith. The second free-kick stretched the young keeper to the limit, as he pushed it round his left hand post.

St Mirren's sole chance of the first-half came in the 21st minute, as right-back David van Zanten caught a left foot volley from 25 yards very sweetly but unfortunately for him the ball flashed past the left hand side of the goal.

In the second half, the visitors looked more dangerous and nearly took the lead through Kirk Broadfoot in the 57th minute but his drive was saved by St Johnstone goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert.
As the game, and the season, came to a close, it was the Paisley Saints who threatened to take all three points. In the 80th minute, John O'Neill missed a shot inside a crowded six yard box after a period of sustained Saints pressure. But there was to be no winner however as both sides settled for a point.

St Johnstone finished the season in their worst league position since 1988, while their visitors St Mirren can be happy with finishing second.
