Comeback star Peter MacDonald fully justified his inclusion yesterday by rocketing Saints into a half time 2 0 lead.

He was delighted for his manager Billy Stark;

"I didn't think the fans were fair on Tuesday night against Hamilton when they were calling for the gaffer's head. That wasn't right. So I was delighted to hit two goals today for him. It was also good to get the goals because I've been getting slagged a bit as I've been missing the net in training."

On the win and the goals he said;

“It was a great win because Falkirk are obviously one of the teams who will be challenging. The first goal gave me confidence and when we got the free-kick there was only one person going to take it. My calf muscles are a bit sore now and my feet are a bit tender but winning’s a great pain-killer.”

Billy Stark was delighted with the win,

“The players did what I asked of them. They went out and showed people what they’re made of and answered the questions the critics have been asking”.

John Hughes said;

"We were beaten by the better team today but I don't think they are a better team than we are overall. While theyscored some great goals they didnt have to try too hard as I felt we beat ourselves."
