POST MATCH REACTION

Billy Stark said after the game:

"It wouldn’t be like us to give ourselves a comfortable night! I thought we merited our win and after Dunfermline scored their two goals we could have lost our composure, but we didn’t. It’s great that the players showed their mettle and I’m delighted that we’re in the quarter-final of a national competition."

Simon Donnelly’s strike was international class, he said:

"It was a fantastic strike and I can't remember scoring a better goal. It is a great boost for St Johnstone to be in the draw for the last eight.''

Jimmy Calderwood was totally unimpressed:

"My players were outfought and outplayed for most of this game. St Johnstone played to their strengths and we couldn't handle it or did not want to handle it. It was not a hard luck story. It was bad play and bad attitude by certain players. It is the same story every year and the supporters deserve better. I don't think these players realise how important these cup ties are for a club like Dunfermline. We brought a big support here and we have let them down again. You can't win a game or start playing with 10 minutes to go, even if it ended up 3-2.'"
