Billy Stark was delighted to have a fuller squad training than he was working with this time last week. Seven days previously, the mainstay of the Saints midfield were warming the physio's bench rather than going through their paces at training. Thankfully for the Saints camp, Paul Bernard, Brian McLaughlin, Simon Donnelly and Mark Robertson were all back amongst the ranks yesterday and participated in one of the two workouts.

Saints skipper, Mark Reilly was still absent. He continues to struggle with an injured ankle.

The reserves are in action this afternoon, (Wednesday) against Raith Rovers. The game is being played at the Dalgety Bay astroturf, and kicks off at 2pm.

Summer left back recruit, PAUL LOVERING shared his pet hates with The Daily Record;

I absolutely detest losing and when we've lost I'm a nightmare, as my wife Karen will verify.

I've cancelled nights out with Karen on the strength of a bad result on a Saturday... I kid you not, I'm a terrible loser.

I hate losing at anything. Even when the guys in the team play cards, Ludo or Cluedo on the bus I have to win or the petted lip comes out.

I suppose it's just the competitive beast in my nature.

Another thing I hate is players who usher the ball out of the park. Most of the time it's blatant obstruction. I've benefited a couple of times but usually I'm the victim as I'm an attacking full-back who likes to get to the dead ball line and put in telling crosses.
